ACT II – ON STAGE

S.K.I.T. Theatre offers middle school and high school students the opportunity to audition and perform on stage or work behind the scenes in a full-scale, Broadway-style production performed for the Salem/Keizer community.

Current Show

Neither Robin Hood & his band of Merry Men nor Maid Marion & her Ladies In Waiting and especially not Prince John and the Sheriff of Nottingham WILL be performing their hilarious comedy this year.  We tried to move the show from May to July, 2020 but, with the Governor’s recent ruling of no large gatherings until the end of September, we have sadly decided that we will be unable to perform the show after all. SKIT Theatre deeply regrets the cancelling of this wonderful event.

BUT, we are currently planning to re-book the show to be performed in January of 2021. All new auditions. All new cast. All new show. We are excited we will be able to perform it just a bit later than we’d hoped. Contact lori@skittheatre.com if you have any questions.

It sure is hard to be humble when you’re a swashbuckling, egocentric super-hero. But our gallant guy-in-green tries his best as he swaggers through The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, a frantically funny, Monty Pythonesque retelling of the classic. This time around, the legendary legend, in his never-ending quest to aid the needy, encounters a lovely damsel-in-distress (oddly obsessed with skin conditions); an ever-scheming sheriff who would rather bowl a strike than hit a bull’s-eye; a gold-hoarding, bad-guy monarch wannabe; and a good-natured “Town’s Buy” who manages to make his way into every scene, whether he belongs there or not. Combine them with an expandable band of spoon-wielding Merry Men whose collective IQs equal six, and you’ve got an irreverent jaunt through Sherwood Forest you won’t soon forget!
